Reiki - Universal life force or life energy
Reiki is a Japanese form of ‘hands-on healing’. The founder of Reiki as natural healing is Dr Mikao Usui who started teaching this in the late 1800’s.
I have been practising Reiki since 1996 (became a master in 1998). I also completed a two year healing course at the College of Psychic Studies, South Kensington, shortly after this.
What happens during a treatment?
Receiving a Reiki treatment is a very simple process. You will be asked to lie on a couch and simply relax. If you cannot lie down the treatment can be given in a sitting position. The main thing is that you are as comfortable as possible. There is no need to remove any clothing as Reiki will pass through anything. I will then place my hands non-intrusively in a sequence of positions which cover the main organs of the body. The whole person is treated rather than specific symptoms. There is no massage or manipulation and a full treatment lasts approximately an hour.
Different sensations may be felt by you –often heat and/or cold. Some people experience emotional feelings; sometimes they laugh; sometimes they cry. You should usually feel very relaxed and balanced by the end of the session.
